Morgan Chat is a multifaceted artist specializing in calligraphy, illustration, photography, and multimedia design. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she graduated from San Jose State University in California with a degree in Art & Design, minor in Photography. While formally trained, her calligraphy and illustration skills are primarily self-taught, driven by passion and personal exploration.

Her artistic style is influenced by her time studying in the United States and a deep appreciation for Japanese calligraphy and culture. This East-West blend, combined with the vibrant atmosphere of Hong Kong, creates a unique and expressive aesthetic in her work. Morgan approaches calligraphy like painting, avoiding replication and instead embracing spontaneous, emotive brushwork, often showcased in her signature large brush live performances.

Morgan’s illustrations arise from everyday moments, such as enjoying memorable meals, which she captures digitally. Her photography ranges from documentary-style images of her surroundings to surreal compositions that explore time and emotion.
